Configuration

These general setting let you customise what users can do in the front end, as well as alter a few visual settings. The allow edit, add and download settings control the front end user features. Truncate text shortens all the strings displayed in the front end table to reduce clutter. Display full names sets whether or not to show first and last names in the table views, while the et al. feature will truncate the names string if there are more than two authors. The allow manual input lets you disable the manual input feature, forcing users to import via BibTex. You can enable a second set of navigation buttons at the top of the frontend table, and choose between small and large icons. The formatted display option will display formatted text references in the front end, rather than a multi column table, this does not prevent users from filtering the references by name, editing references or any of the other features.

Creating a Menu Item for the Component

To use the component on your site you must create a menu item through the Joomla menu manager. This is achieved by added I a new menu item and selecting the component item. The Joomla BibTex component should be selected, a name chosen and the item saved. Once saved, the menu item can be opened and the parameters edited, here the category to be shown can be selected. If this is left blank, all categories will be shown through this menu item. Multiple menu items, each with different categories can be created.
