Thank you for providing this good extension for keeping the references.

I come from Hong Kong and using a open source JabRef to create a file in UTF8 format with Traditional Chinese.  When I upload this file through Bibliography Manager.  I got this error.

Data SavedDB function failed with error number 1136Column count doesn't match value count at row 1 SQL=insert into jos_bib () values ('')

Here is file content of my .BIB file

This file was created with JabRef 2.2.
Encoding: MS950

@BOOK{A001,
  title = {精神與健康手冊},
  publisher = {不詳},
  year = {不詳},
  editor = {不詳},
  author = {不詳},
  owner = {Apple},
  timestamp = {2007.02.08}
}

@BOOK{A002,
  title = {心病},
  publisher = {宇宙光},
  year = {不詳},
  editor = {不詳},
  author = {陸汝斌},
  owner = {Apple},
  timestamp = {2007.02.08}
}

Thanks for the feedback hkfastfood.  I am working on a second release at the moment so I will keep this in mind during the development.  When I view the forum post you gave the Traditional Chinese text just comes out as blocks.  Is that the forum software doing it or is it because I don't have the Chinese Fonts installed on my PC...?  I am guessing that your input is failing because of the chinese encoding of the text.  Have you tried copying the text and pasting into the alternative upload box?  When I do that with the text you posted it works OK, but I expect that is just because the chinese characters have been converted to blocks for me.

I have no experience of working with chinese encoded text, so I am not confident of being able to provide a fix in the next release, but I will have a go.  The main problem for me is that I don't have traditional chinese language packs installed on my system so it will be hard to test any fixes

Hi, Mark,

Much appreciate your prompt response. Yes, I can upload the 2 records by copy/paste onto the text area except one of the author name.  My site's locale is set to UTF8 and MySQL is UTF8 as well.  Anyway, I will keep on using this excellent extension for my site as well as for my church.

If this problem could be solved in the next version, then it would be great to our church officer who is not well trained in computing.

Thank you very much.

What was the problem you had with the author name?  Also could you e-mail me(http://www.everythingthatiknowabout.com/Joomla/component/option,com_comprofiler/task,userProfile/user,62/)  the original .bib file so I can have a look at it.

The missing author name is not a bug, it is simply that the component only displays the surnames, for aesthetic reasons.
