Hello,

I've tried to install com_jombib under joomla 1.5.rc3 and I got the error at the end. I think it could be that this component is not compatible with  the 1.5.rc3 joomla version. Can someone confirm or deny this? any idea on what to do next?

Many thanks,
Alberto

        * JInstaller::install: There is already a folder called '/var/www/joomla/administrator/components/com_jombib/' - Please initially check whether:
          • the extension is already installed
          • the file names in the XML file are spelled correctly
          • there are no xml files listed inside the extension.xml file
          • all of the files (not including xml files) are correctly listed in the extension.xml file and there are no duplicate entries
          • there is an empty folder listed from a previous installation attempt
        * Component Install: Could not copy PHP install file.

Hi, I had the same problem trying to install under joomla 1.5 cr3 and there is no directory called "components/joomla/bibtex". Please, is it possible to install under this version of joomla? What is necessary to do?

Thanks a lot,

I have not tried the component with Joomla 1.5rc3, so I cannot say whether or not is is compatible.

Also, I meant delete components/joomla/com_jombib

Hello Mark,

I think it's not yet compatible. It will need some changes in the code, 'cause it  doesn't create this directory "com_jombib" neather in the administrator nor in the components. We receive the message that the extension is already installed, but it's not true. Let's wait for a new version. Many thanks for your answer.

Yes, I was not thinking at all when I made that last post, I haven't touched Joomla for ages, and I had fogotten that 1.5 was a completely new build.  It is not compatible at the moment.  I might look into creating a compatible version, but only when i have a 1.5 server running.

Thanks for the answers (I'm sorry I didn't returned before).

¿Would someone suggest an alternative to jombib?

I have experimented the same problem. Is there a way to install jombib directly on the server ?

I would be happy to provide a Joomla 1.5 server if that would help  Grin
