Everyone should update their Bibtex component files bibtex.php, jombib.html.php and jombib.php

so that the first lines read to remove a major vulnerability:

remove later occurrence of
defined( '_VALID_MOS' ) or die( 'Direct Access to this location is not allowed.' ); in one of the files.

There is one hack in them that you advised re paging issue, other than that they should be as supplied in 1.32b release.

Some 15,000 visitors hit the phishing page... with that many fools reacting to the spam 

There was also a virus package, no idea  if it was called by Bibtex as by the time I realised that the front end had been altered I had already disabled the files in the backend.

Identified, it was Trojan Horse PHP/BackDoor.C99shell in file bayo.php

last file is known now.

BIBTEX has been hacked 

Some files have been added to the JOMBIB directory of my site after clean-up I am left with

download.bib
errors.php
jombib.html.php
jombib.php
php.cgi.core

are these all supposed to be there, particularly that last one? which is 73Mb :-o

Has anyone else had this problem?

Try turning Joomfish off for a day and then back on. It only works if it is off for at least a day.

This is also happening with 'All Titles' after filtering. Which is a serious pain as only the first 25 out of 38 filtered can be seen.

Select one of the category related options, everything works fine. Carnival filtered in 'General (World)' gives 31 results, go to second page and you get the 6 more titles and the result remains on 31.

If I dopwnload the bibtex string after the first example it prduces duplicates of most tiles.

Any ideas what is going wrong?

Ability to order or search the back end would be very useful as finding things in the back is not easy.

This is a good basic product needing some minor tweaking bells and whistles could be useful but better to get all the functionality tightened up.

Particular being able to limit adding to registered editors or above. But also choosing a user group for downloads of the Bibtex string too.

One problem I have found with many Joomla solutions is that assume low volumes of data and put an entire query result into memory. I hope I don't hit that one here as I will be adding upwards of 20,000 records.

It would be nice to have a tight Joomla! 1.0 version before the 1.5 - it is likely then to be the standard bibliography tool for Joomla!.

I saw someone mention of a problem with some characters, any Eastern European character can cause problems in Joomla! and the data needs to be stored in a UTF-8 database as RAW.

Apstrophe problem is important too.

It is as well here was no conversion facility as my 10 year old original was very poorly researched. I am now rewriting the whole lot and buiding the bibtex format in a text doc and pasting the strings singly or in groups going into the same category. With good result.

I think this an important omission.

Very pleased with this module though Mark, it knocks holes in all of the others I have tried and gave up on.
